Alternative Camp - Back to Pso'Xja

So after my rant about the WAR in Pso'Xja I decided to try the West Sarutabaruta [S] camp. It actually wasn't too bad. Was able to finish off my exp band which was nice but it was still a pain. Had to sleep /logout so I didn't die a few times. Not my choice of camps but hey it beats sitting in my mog house staring at my moogle.

After dedication wore I decided to skill up the big 3 (elemental, enfeebling, and dark magic). Which was one decent thing about the camp I could skill up right next door basically. Capped those and decided to get some sleep.

Today I logged on and searched Pso'Xja, my camp appeared open so I headed out. I ended up struggling to get to camp twice and died once due to snk/invis sucking today for some reason. I did finally make it to camp. Been getting chain 5's ever since. Gonna get back to that now and should write a bit more later.

Well There's the pics and now its time for the rant. Today before work I went out to Pso'Xja and got 4k (with band in less than 25 minutes) Not even right on top of it really just messing around.
That was great. So I went to work and well it was crap but that's not really FFXI related so who cares ^^.

So I get home log in someone's at the camp. Oh well no big deal it happens I like to support my fellow BLM's. Wait a minute BLM's don't have armor maybe its a BLU. That would be okay too. I mean a BLU should have no problem getting a party but whatever that would be fine. Oh never mind its 55 WAR with a PL. You have to be %^$*ing kidding me. Okay I wasn't logged on so yea the camp was free but to log on to see that blew my mind. But I mean its a WAR. Why is the WAR not finding a party? If you need a PL to solo pets you should not be killing them.

I seriously don't remember warriors getting screwed over when ToAU came out (well since I've been back). Is it really necessary to screw BLM's over even more by taking their solo camps when they pretty much have very few options, pretty much solo or level sync and never use any of you cool new flashy spells. Warriors have a lot of options I think soloing bats with a PL is on the very bottom of the list. At least it should be.

Now I have a band going to waste which I would not have minded if it was another BLM there when I logged on. I understand its really difficult for them too I don't mind giving them the camp they were there they need exp too and it's pretty much their only option too.

Regardless I warped out I am not going to camp on top of someone even if they are just a [insert derogatory word here]. (to be honest a couldn't think of word to describe the behavior)

Anyways sorry I know the people that read probably don't do so to listen to me rant. Yea everyone needs experience and technically it's a free world and Vana'diel belongs to us all.

Ok so well I only got one thing on my list accomplished. If you haven't deciphered which by the title of my blog it was the Moblin Maze Mongers portion. I think this was the most fun I have had in a long time. Lancaster, Odinrawk, and I attempted the first run. We got screwed on the elemental's that popped on the second map. Being the only real DD I just couldn't damage to the physical resistant mobs. We had I think 3 or 4 elemental's left at the end.

Second time me and Odin went in and got down to last 4 funguars and I made a stupid pull which got us killed. Still it was a great experience that I can't wait to try more of. I am hoping some people will want to go tomorrow.

Well tomorrow is my day off so hoping to get the rest of the stuff on my to do list done then.

Old News - New News

So I got 55 the other day I am not really sure when and to be frank don't really remember if it was campaign ops or in Pso'Xja. All I know if Pso'Xja is a great camp and really good exp with or without my emperor's band. I have some screen shot's I think let me see...

I thought I had more but I guess not.

One thing I want to mention is I love soloing. It provides me various opportunities to do do what I want in between kills. If I am hungry no problem I go eat. Want a smoke, go ahead. Hell I am resting right now as I type in my blog. That screen shot yea I edited in between kills too.

Right now I am in Pso'Xja. I forgot food so when a VT bat pops I have trouble with them sometimes. Usually they'll just have a sliver of hp left and a stone will dispatch them. A couple of times tho I got big resists and can't seem to recover even without the goblin linking. I did remember a brand new reraise earring so the deaths are only mildly inconvenient.

I think I am going to ride out the rest of my band then head to town and pick up my food. Also I just used the last charge on my band so I can recharge that. I also did the quest for retrace but haven't picked it up yet. So I might as well pick that up too. Oh and MMM came out today. I want to try it out very badly.

So we'll see what happens. Maybe I'll get two posts today to make up for the past few missing entries.

Short update.

As the title makes obvious this is gonna be a short update. Got 54 BLM and 6k + exp. Also capped all my skills. I have some SS's I don't feel like editing atm to show some killer dmg and exp!

Anyways still feel like crap so I apologize for the short update and hopefully will post more tomorrow.

A lot of deaths.

So. I didn't post my experiences last night so going to do so today before I log in. First off I completed my af weapon quest for blm. Then Yevna and Tamyaa helped me get my garlaige coffer key. Tam had to leave after that and then Yev helped me get my eldieme coffer key.

After that was said and done it was time to get the quests activated and ready to go. Done and Done. Time to go and find me a coffer. So I find the coffer, yay! Well not exactly I couldn't reach it. So I had to go complete the lycopodium quest to get behind banishing gate #2. Took me a while but I finally got the coffer and my old gauntlets.

Now for Dark Spark. All I can say is what a dick. I think most jobs at 75 can solo him pretty easy. Ranger cannot. Not easily anyway. By the end of the fight I had 59 hp and a case of bio 3. Luckily someone had warned me of this so I had rr 2 up. I got the shadow flames before I died as well. Went back to Jeuno for my award.

Now off to gustav tunnel to get 54 so I can wear the af I worked so hard for. Got there and started busting out my first 1k+ freezes.




I d/c'd so I didn't get to screen shot my very first 1k+ Freeze but oh well. Anyways my level 75 blm friend Tybodn ended up coming out and duo'ing with me. It was cool since I haven't seen him in a while and we were able to get on Team Speak and talk. I ended up dying 4-5 times mostly due to resists. I don't know what it is but just being around Tybo I seem to die a lot more than usual. Even tho most of the time its in no way shape or form his fault.

Anyway I didn't quite reach my goal of 54 before it was time to /shutdown but had made plenty of progress.

Overall even with all the deaths it was a good night.

PS. I hate being sick.

Assault - Back to my roots

So today I was able to join my old assault group to do some missions that I needed and they needed as well. It took me a while to get to there because I had just finished killing the nm that drops moldavite earring. (Beforehand I was worried I couldn't solo it) Barrage > Sidewinder > Eagle Eye Shot put those worries to rest but no drop so ensured I would get to do it again. Anyways of to mhaura to warp to whitegate. 0/1 moldy earring

Once I arrived it was a great feeling to jump back into the group even if for only one night. I've always missed Shinku's /random games and "guess your own" is king of the crop imo. We completed 3/3 missions and finished in time for me to make the next pop for my earring.

The first time I was subbing nin since I was worried I couldn't solo the mob, this time know mob was easy enough I went /thf. Got there and waited 10-15 minutes and pop goes the goblin and got claim again w/o shadows and my 3 point strategy left a little hp on him. Was fine though and still got he kill w/o much harm. 0/2 moldy earring

So now I decided to go camp Intulo while I wait for the timed spawn. About an hour in he pops and I kill him with nada drops not even an eft skin. So I head back to Onzozo and wait until he pops again. This time I barely survive with ~200 hp left but finally get the drop. I wish the wiki would have said the nm needed a goblet full of blood before it dropped earrings I wouldn't have pwned it so hardcore the first time. 1/3 Yay!

So now time to try it out. Get out to Gustav tunnel another BLM (53) there np /bow and off to the other camp there to see how I like it. This camp only has one goblin with pet but it doesn't leave for long periods of time like the other two tend to do. Though it was difficult to make the kills sometimes. I had two resists during this session and 1/2 killed me. I died one other time due to impatience. If you've read my blog so far or have know me in game you should know I have a patience problem by now. So my first death fine whatever rr was up np. Then get up and realize my rr earring is dead. Ok need to be extremely careful.

I stopped taking the risks I normally would. Exp was going fine. Then resist my the tiniest bit and the pet had a tiny sliver of hp left and linked the gob. I knew I was going down anyway so I cast blizzard and the pet went down then so did I.

Hp'd and went to the AH and found some new gear then got a retrace so I could do campaign ops to finish the last little bit of my level. Got 53 BLM + ~1k exp. Then started to skill up on campaign mobs and capped enfeebling and elemental magic. Didn't want to stay up any longer to cap dark magic so saving that for tomorrow.

Overall a pretty good night for me except for in real life I am sick as a dog and feel like monkey poo.

Fields of Valor - I fail

So since I wrote my first entry last week I have completed some Aht Urgan Missions and am really falling for the story line.

Then on Sunday I did salvage and assaults. Assaults went great saw my first r/ex piece which was cool, too bad the piece was incredibly lol and I am not sure what job the piece was designed for. I think Itazura may have been right and it was for Corsair. Anyway I also got Second Lieutenant rank up. Then in salvage our Bard got his third piece for his pants so now the ls has a completed 3 pieces of armor. I got the level 15 head piece for the Skadi's head. I should have given it to Shinku because I will most likely never afford it.

Today I logged on wanting to try fields of valor went to xarcabard to try it since that was the closest level range for my blm. I almost got pwned by the ghost so I quickly OP'd out of there before the end of the fight.

Oh yea big thanks to S-E for moving the OP guy right outside the mog house. Seriously awesome. Wish I would have remembered reading that in the update before I made it to where he used to be though. Even so great change.

So then I switch to white mage and teleport-holla > chocobo > selbina > switch back to blm > gustav tunnel. Now time to make things go Ka-boom.

Loving blm post level 51. Getting chain #5's almost constantly. With exp band I got 300-525 exp each kill which is just nuts. 180-350 without exp band which is also nuts. Scored level 52 and exp took a dip but not much and still better than sleep nuking. Died once due to impatience again but actually had reraise up this time.

Only one resist from 51-52 but still defeated the mob (was lucky goblin's back was turned).

Anyways I just realized how boring this post is, so gonna stop here.

51 BLM (Yay Staff's)

So this is my attempt at a blog. I am going to document my adventures in the world of Vana'diel.

My main goal is to document my travel as a Black Mage to 75 and beyond. Though most of my entries are going to be tied to blm some will include other events I see fit to include involving my life in FFXI.

From my weekly assault runs and salvage to the reasons why my first and only job to 75 being Ranger was an idiotic choice.

Anyways I got 51 blm doing campaign ops last night before my girlfriend got off work. I was in the middle of trying to cap my magic skills when she arrived.

Tonight I logged on after I got home from work, finished capping my skills in campaign. It's actually a great way to cap skills, at least for magic where I can stand far away. Then ended up heading to Gustav Tunnel to kill some leeches a couple of level synced 49 BLU/NIN's were there. So I ask in say "Goblin's Leech?" reply "yes" so "Understood. Take Care."
/logout
then replies from both of them "Thank You".

It was nice to get the thank you's from them even though it was unnecessary but to be honest I could have totally set up camp on top of them and forced them out. Instead I logged out and watched a movie and logged back in. Yes I have no life.
No one there sweet.

Okay a different BLU is here somewhere but I don't see them anywhere. tab key, tab key, tab key, tab key, and so forth. Okay no one. Alright now let's freeze some leeches. Eat a Sweet Rice Cake (ty Yev) and pop an exp band. Freeze. wait wait wait. Ka-boom.

Now here is the fun part. So you know that voice in your head that tells you not to do something it's going to lead to pain, death and an empty wallet. I tend to ignore mine (i.e. Ranger 75) So I start casting Freeze and the target moves out of range. Now I just waited about 12-15 seconds and no ka-boom. I am upset. I love ka-boom! So I think ok maybe I should move out of my safe zone just a bit and cast again.

Voice: Don't do it!

10 seconds later I'm across the tunnel and the BST mob spots me trying to kill his little buddy. He wasn't happy. I run away and the goblin knocks me out. So now I lying on my back thinking oh why oh why don't I listen to that voice? Also will how do I always end up on my back when I fall down? And for those of you paying attention I forgot something when I had my snack, what was it?
