Oh geez

So wow I don't know what to say I haven't updated in forever. I don't know when the last time I posted was and too lazy to look up what it was about. I am pretty sure that since last post I have got quite a few pieces for my BLM that I am very proud of. Selenian Cap, though I do want to do fight again so I can change some stats on it. Goliard cuffs which are actually arguably better than the coveted zenith mitts though they lack the mp and have 1 lower MAB the Magic Accuracy more than makes up for it in my opinion.

Also I bought both the Witch Sash and Ixion Cape. The Witch sash replaced my penitent's rope. It has the same MND and INT but I lose the enmity - 4. Which isn't a good thing but I also gain 2 more magic accuracy and magic critical hit rate +2%. Though it rarely proc's even with the 10% on my selenian cap as well. (Which is why I want to change stats on the cap) The Ixion Cape is an upgrade for both my solitaire cape and my rainbow cape. (I decided to forgo the Prism Cape on my quest to get this). It has the most INT and MND combined on any one cape and also adds 20 hp and - 2 enmity.

Lastly I traded in my Suppa for an Abyssal earring which is a great gives me an extra INT point while nuking as well as extra dark magic skill for my aspir and drain macro's. I am very happy we were able to do Divine Might to get this done and even picked up some new earrings for a few first timers. I want to say Congratulations and Thank You to all who attended and made it possible.

I also have to thank and say good bye to one of the coolest people I've met playing FFXI. Mrpiddlex. You may remember him from our adventure with the evil demon "Brothers". Even though you have logged out for your last time your Legacy is one that will forever be a part of Vana'diel. I want to wish you the best of luck in your career and I rest easy knowing that at least a small group of the youth of america are in good hands. I want to thank you again for helping to make my dreams of Ixion's Cape a reality for me.

I am currently working on getting SAM to 75. I am 70 now and only a little over 5k tnl. At the same time I am trying to attain new medals in the past. My hate of campaign is finally coming back to bite me in the ass. I lost many medals over the last year and it is going to be a long time before I can get some of the gear I want for both SAM and BLM because of that.

Onto my pipe dream SE have dubbed Mythic Weapons. I actually have now defeated Odin. Leaving only one salvage boss and the three beastman leaders in the first quest on attaining my mythic. Still before I want to attempt getting help with the beastman leaders I need to complete ToAU. Currently we are doing Altana missions which have a great story and I am greatly looking forward to the conclusion (though it's not in the game yet). Though Itaz has promised me ToAU will be next for our group!

Sorry this is going to be a pretty long post. Unfortunately today had another dash in both my attempts to complete a Salvage piece and obtaining my mythic. The salvage boss run was canceled and unfortunately (I don't think it was on purpose but was still upseting) salvage didn't happen at all. I have a feeling it was due to the way the posts and lsmes were worded but oh well shit happens.

Then Tinnin was a disaster today. I am not sure what went wrong but we just didn't seem to have enough support for the tanks or something because they kept dying. Eventually this lead to Tinnin completely raping our whole alliance. Dashing my hopes for a trophy and all other drops for the ls. Tinnin has been a very upsetting experience for me and I think quite a few others feel the same. We've spent months getting to the point where we could pop him and with the 4 pop items we had we only seen the drops off of 1 of them.

I'm sure we will get to him again but it was still bad for morale to see all that hard work go down the drain. I also spent a lot of time today getting merits. I put my first 2 upgrades into elemental magic and put my second upgrade into lightning potency. I still have 2 merit point left and need one more before I decide where to spend it.

I also did a few ODS runs a while back and did more today. I had held the record before we went today, and we beat the record several times today and beat it one final time again on my orb. So once again my name is on the record with a time of 1 minute and 14 seconds. Unfortunately setting records didn't carry over into luck with drops. Nothing but junk for all. A couple people got the newly no longer trash warwolf belt but still it wasn't enough to be worth splitting between the 5 of us.

Tybo and I have pretty regularly going to both the Brother's and Sheep in Antlion's Clothing ENM's. We've got both done pretty well. We've got a couple good drops from both of them but still haven't seen the highest priced items from either. (The Hagun and the Hedgehog Bomb.) When the Hagun finally does drop I am wanting to give Tybo half it's worth so I can keep it for my SAM. After the purchase of the Ixion Cape I am still 500k short of the half-priced Hagun. Though if it drops before that I am sure Tybo would float me the rest.

I'm sure there is a lot of stuff I missed but there is no way I can remember everything I've done since my last post. Hopefully I will remember to post more often though. Thanks for reading and I'll see you in game.

Eh

Been a while since my last update. Haven't done a whole lot recently besides the normal farming and crafting. Ok Maybe that's a bit untrue. I have been leveling woodworking on my Sandy Mule. Have 58 Woodworking on the little taru at the moment. Funny thing is I've actually made a few gil while skilling up. I make plenty of gil with Alchemy on my main but not too much of it was while skilling up.

I've got myself to the first BC of the new add-on. Surprisingly enough I am actually really enjoying the story. The quests are still tedious like ACP but they seem to fit the story better at least.

I got the Dynamis-Beaucedine win today. Lost RNG feet lot.

Tried to do Weapons Augment quest. Failed twice but was fun anyway. First time I've got to play with Eve and Zaan since they've been back. Was fun to play with some of the Blue members I normally don't see (except sundays) due to my work schedule. We plan to try again next Monday with a new strategy we came up with for North Gustaberg [S].

Lost yet another rank for WotG. I just don't have the drive to do campaign. I want to test SAM/DNC again though now that I am 69 SAM. Oh yea got 69 SAM. A good way into level if I remember right.

Got 2 pop sets for Genbu while farming with ls mates. Tybo also came out and helped on his SMN. I told him he should just join Blue already >_>. But he still has endgame gear to get and Blue isn't an Endgame ls. Still he should have honorary membership or something. lol. He's told me several times that he likes everyone from Blue that he has met. Blue seems to like him as well (as far as I can tell)

Well that's about all for now. Catch you later.

Pipe Dreams

So today I joined my first Einherjar run. Was actually quite fun. It is early though and from what I was told I barely made it today since it is an open ls and it's first come first serve. So now I need to wake up even earlier on Sundays. Oh well 2 years from now when I get my mythic it will all be worth it. Until the following week when ffxi dies because of ffxiv. Still having a goal this big in this game really is keeping me playing right now. That and how much I love playing BLM.

Right now I need to finish up the ToAU storyline to get captain and get started on the first quest. Which is to kill 8 NM's. Well all you need is to have got the title at one point. So I am actually already 3/8 for the NM's. So I have Odin, Amored Chariot (last salvage boss for Blue to beat), and the Three Beastman Kings. The Beastman NM's are by far going to be the most difficult to do. The Einherjar ls I joined has already beat Odin so it's a matter of time before I fight him. The Salvage boss isn't a worry either. Eventually we will need a drop from it and I have full confidence Blue can take it down.

Getting people to do the other NM's is gonna be more difficult. While they do drop a few good items it's really only 1 a piece. It's also a hassle to do and out of the way but eventually I will figure something out. Then from there I need to gather 100k Therion Ichor from einherjar. Which as of today I am 1440/100,000. Still I should get that eventually without too much trouble. I am also about 22,000/150,000 for Nyzul tokens which also shouldn't be a big deal since I do that as well. Recording assualts all over again will suck but it can be done.

The big one is gonna be the 30k Alexandrite from Salvage. While I do Salvage the drops for Alexandrite are horrible. Even being the smallest amount of items to collect I am gonna cry myself to sleep every night when I start to collect them. Right now I am at 140/30,000 for alexandrite. That's after over a year of doing Salvage.

After that it's time to collect all 3 trophies from the Tier IV ZNM's which isn't going to be an easy task but since I also do ZNM's weekly it should happen eventually.

Anyway, after Einherjar I joined up with Itaz, Yev and Lp to do assaults. Piddle posted he couldn't attend and Lan is MIA for the second week in a row. So we ended up doing a couple runs for Assaults Lp needed and a couple farming runs. So no Nyzul for us again this week. Which is fine I still need points for a couple items and so I can keep up with salvage. I really do want to do some Nyzul soon though so I hope Lan is ok and comes back soon.

After a break it was time for Salvage. We decided that even though we were low on people we would try the boss anyway. Unfortunately we ran out of time right as we got to the boss. We should have had it but we messed up a couple times which wasted time. Also Itaz and Yev had a couple ill-timed d/c's. It was a little unnerving but I thing we should be able to take in on next week with no problem learning from this weeks mistakes.

Then it was ZNM time. All I can say is I hate this NM. The first fight took a long time. We ended up kiting it due to some d/c's and deaths. I actually think the straight tanking would have been the better method if we would have had a few more DD's. The tanks just had to hold the mob for way too long since we only had 2 BLM's and a BLU, I think, for DD's at first. And as a BLM I was holding back a lot to try and make sure I caught anything I needed to stun. Though since a lot of normal damage dealers were on other jobs that when we realized we needed more damage to hurry up the run we had to convert to kiting since we didn't have the jobs to support straight tanking anymore.

The kiting method was very frustrating for me as BLM. It seemed like over 60% of my nukes were interupted because it went out of range. Also for a good portion of the fights I barely even saw the mob. I'd stand in one place waitng for it to come back around and waiting for a over a minute sometimes it seemed then eventually went to look for it. Of course when I finally did go looking for it it was rarely in the direction I headed. Eventually on the last fight I just stayed in one spot the entire fight and only moved when I got hate.

It was still very annoying but a bit less stressful. Still when the mob got to about 5% and I couldn't get a single nuke off I felt like screaming. I think I might bring up next week that maybe the PLD could stop kiting when it gets that low so the BLM's can just finish it off. It was pretty ridiculous. But enough of my ranting.

As for drops no Nagerling dropped. Which btw is the coolest looking Great Sword in the game. Some yellow pants dropped which Itaz got. Two pairs on Enkidu's Mittens dropped. I won the lot on the first pair but then decided to pass them to Zisen. I am really hoping to get my Skadi's completed soon in which case I doubt I'll ever use the mittens again. Plus I don't think Zisen had really got anything from ZNM yet even though he has been to a few runs and Lp's used his character for runs before as well. But another pair dropped and this time I decided to lot again and this time try and get them. I have them now so my Ranger actually has a decent pair of gloves now until I get my Skadi's hands completed.

But wow this has almost become a book. I need to finish up some cutscenes for ZM's on tuesday so I am just gonna say goodbye here.

Jailbreak

So I've been trying to make a lot of gil recently and I am almost up to a mil. Problem is every time I go to try and spend it all the items I want for BLM are overpriced or there are none in stock. Eventually I will probably end up paying the inflated prices but at the moment I'm not up for it.

Piddle and I finally got our groove back (just call me Stella) and after 3 weeks of failure we once again proved our supremacy against the Tauri. This time a dragon bone dropped which is actually less rewarding than the eltoro leathers we were getting before. Oh well 3.5k exp towards capping my BLM and once again winning was worth every lost second of sleep.

Woke up at 7 am Sunday and couldn't get back to sleep at first. Did some more crafting and gathered some zeni up so I could grab 2 pops for ZNM later. Got back to sleep around 9:30 am and set my alarm for 11 am for assaults. Didn't wake back up until 11:30 and couldn't really wake myself up until 11:50. By that time I had prolonged the event long enough that Itaz and Yev had logged hate on their parents. Lan was still mia so we still ended up doing Regular assaults instead of nyzul. Which I was actually happy about since I needed the points.

We cleared 2 assaults for Lp and farmed points another run. We also lost a tag to a poorly timed d/c. The 3 who had 5 tags went on for another farming run (I had apparently forgot to get my 5th).

Then we went on to salvage and had to change from a boss run to farming run. As usual nothing dropped even though it was the zone where they "increased" the drop rates.

After it was time for ZNM first pop was a bit hectic and quite a few people kicked the bucket. After that all was well until the bastard decided to one shot me. Nothing besides trophies dropped the entire run. Which was incredibly lame since we still have 4 people declared on those shoes. I brought along 1 pop at first then got the go ahead to run back to town to get a second pop item. I am glad that I will be able to pop both of the 2/3 mamool ja tier 3 ZNM's we have left. Which means in two weeks I will should have all the seals to buy a pop for our first Tier 4 ZNM. I only have to get 6k zeni now.

After ZNM I took a break and once I got back on Tybo was finally on and I was able to convince him to go on an adventure to rescue a qiqirn so I could finally get my haste turban. They experience actually turned out a lot easier than I had expected. We farmed a key in the Woodlands fighting trolls on our BLM's. Two Freeze II's and a couple Blizzard IV's topped of with a drain took care of them so they were fairly easy fights. It wasn't long before we got a key. I went and switched to RNG so I could use widescan to locate my prisoner. I found the mouse and we traveled to him and Tybo had to sleep a couple true sight Wamoura's.

After that I made it to the prison cells and was able to set the mouse free as Tybo slept the troll. We unfortunately didn't have a spare key to save the galka who was locked in the same room. We waved good bye to him as Tybo escaped us. After that I waited 1 game day for the return of my mouse and finally received my long awaited Walahra Turban.

Anyway that's all I have to share tonight which is a good thing since that was getting a bit long. Later all.

New Gear

So I picked up a couple new items today. First off probably the item I am most proud of the Rajas Ring.

Next is a Neptune's Staff which makes 6/7 for the HQ stave's I want to own.

Really I won't get all that much use out of this staff except when I solo since a lot of the time I try to use the lowest nuke I can that I think will finish off the mob. It's kind of a fun game to play but also can be a deadly one depending on what mobs I am playing with. This leaves me with only the Terra's Staff to collect. Still maybe it's just the white box that attracts me so much since I am well past the major 3 and Auster's which is also extremely useful for BLM. Vulcan's was a combo pack since the extra STR is good for RNG/SAM and it is the next highest nuke after Blizzard and Thunder. Neptune's and Terra's are for the most part pointless yet I wouldn't feel my BLM was complete without them.

Also against my inventories protest I also picked up a Light Staff while I was at it since against my will I am in fact sometimes forced to use cure spells.

Well time to craft a bit more until I fall to sleep.

Woodworker Strike Hits Home

Not sure when the strike happened but I wish it would end. No there isn't really a stike as far as I know. It is annoying that I haven't been able to buy a stack of demon arrow quivers in the past 3 weeks due to there not being a single one every time I check the AH. No not one up there that I refuse to pay that much for, NONE! Side note not a single Kabura Arrow either which I use for my Sidewinders and other lesser weapon skills when requested. This is very annoying because I do get asked to go on RNG to many events where BLM isn't the best option. Arrows are one of the biggest factors in damage for a Ranger and having to buy Scorpion arrows would make me gimper than my RNG already is.

As time rolls on my gear for RNG is getting slightly better though piece by piece. This past Sunday by some miracle I got my hands on a Kappa Necklace which gives me a nice +8 ranged attack when I don't need to use that slot for ranged accuracy. It also gives Recycle and Ninja Tool Expertise while in salvage which will help save me gil if I get my neck piece unlocked during the run. I am sure other pieces await my Ranger in the future but I try not to dwell on it.

The reason I was looking for arrows today was because after the Pot fight for CoP we decided to continue the nights event and move on to Promathia! I was asked to switch from BLM to RNG since Promathia can put up both a Magical and Physical Shield (seperately) so it is best to have both types of damage. As for the fight itself I don't know quite what to say. Well maybe I do, I died, a lot. I was disappointed that at the end of the fight only Yevna was left standing from our group and Prishe was the one who stomped Promathia's face in as we all laid ko'd on the ground.

Still, a win is a win, right? >_< Anyway at some point tomorrow I get to finish up some cutscenes and collect my Rajas ring. Tamas would really be nice as well but I would only use it for one job and Rajas would be used on the 3 other jobs I want to have at 75.

Sunday I missed out on a Tomoe again, this time because I had to go to a dinner for Father's Day. Like I told Itaz I am not that worried about it, eventually I will get another shot at it and if not it's just an imaginary weapon in a game. We did another Genbu monday, got a lot of drops this time but still no Zenith Mitts to be found.

Saturday night Piddle and I did another Brothers ENM and for second week in a row we failed. Not sure what is going on. I plan for revenge this coming saturday but I'm not sure but it might be the last time Piddle is going to be able to go. So either I have to find another BLM to go with or give up on that endeavor.

I think that's about all for now, except that I want to thank everyone who participated and helped with CoP in any way. I am so amazingly glad to finally get to see the story unfold until the very end. Thank you.

Holy gear batman

Friday night after I posted I got into an EXP party with Itaz, Lp and Little on SAM. It was a pretty decent exp party at first until Little had to go to sleep and I replaced him with a THF because the RDM who was going to replace him backed out. The THF just wasn't very good and it really makes me sad everytime I see it because thieves like that are the reason it would take me hours to get an invite on THF.

Still we putted along and I was able to deal with it since I still had LP and Itaz with me in the group. After a while Lp got sleepy too and we decided to disband the party. I ended up about 9k exp until 68. We had synced the party to 48 and Lp was on DRG and I was on SAM. I was the top DD until the sync'd member hit 49 and Lp got Penta Thrust. That weaponskill is simply amazing which is the reason why when I fight birds on SAM I usually use a polearm.

After that I am not sure what I did. Probably more farming or crafting. Didn't spend much time on the game Saturday. Went and played CoD 4 and Infamous over at my friends house all night. Made it online today for Assaults and ended up waiting until around 11:30 am to start. Which was fine I was just playing around in Pankration until we started anyway. Got three of the assaults done that Lp needed since he only had 3 tags. Actually got all 3 done no problems which surprised me since all 3 are pretty much luck based except maybe Double Agent. Then Piddle, Lan and I did Apkallu Breeding x2 for points.

At that point I was almost passing out. I began switching gear to RNG to get ready for salvage and I guess at that point I actually did pass out because next thing I know I wake up it's 4:58 pm and they have already entered. I was less than half switched in between RNG and BLM and had a bunch of /tell's /poke'ing me to wake up. Sound was all the way up too so I just must have been exhausted from everything this week.

I ended up going back to Sleep and woke back up again late for ZNM. At least with ZNM I could join part way through though. I geared back up on BLM and headed out to the ruins without saying anything (I was embarrased already by sleeping through salvage, especially since main reason we are doing boss is for me). I arrived and the mob was ~40% and I got an invite and helped finish off the mob. Oracle's Gloves dropped and I was told to lot them. I refused since I showed up late to the battle and didn't feel like I had done anything to deserve them at that point.

After that we fought 2 more Armed Gears and another pair of gloves dropped. I felt a little more comfortable and decided that I would lot them this time. To be honest though I still feel bad about getting them but oh well. Afterward I decided to go farm organs with Piddle in sea. On my way there I stopped at the Auction House and picked up a pair of Igqira Lappa's. A cool quarter mil and they were mine. With those and the gloves my enfeebling magic gear now boosts my skill by a whopping 43 points.

My goals for my enfeebling magic set are an Altruistic Cape (+5) and to upgrade my Spider Torque into an Enfeebling Torque which will give me (+2). A more long term goal is to start doing Limbus and to upgrade my Wizard's Coat into the +1 version for another extra 2 skill points. Right now with my merits and gear I am sitting @ 277 enfeebling skill.

So we ended up in sea and I followed Piddle around as we talked to the black hole npc guys until one of them finally coughed up the map. By the time we were done getting map Tybodn had come up to join us in our organ farming. By the time Piddle had to go I think we had got him 2 Aern organs and myself I had got 2 tissues. After he left Tybo and I moved on to flowers and he said he would would help me out with map. We kind of did a run at both at the same time and basically went through the same thing we will be doing to get through CoP on Tuesday.

It took us a while to get through it but that was mostly because we were fighting flowers along the way. Unfortunately no organs dropped and only one more tissue dropped. It seems like it might take me quite a while to get my relaxing earring. Though I did get my map and now know how to lead our group through the area for our CoP static so it wasn't a complete waste.

Oh actually I did do something Saturday. Piddle and I failed the Brothers ENM for the first time. I think it was a combination of bad luck and an underestimation of how important both of us being /rdm was. I had forgot to change support jobs and Piddle was already sleepy when we started. >.< Still next week we should go back to our normal routine. I am fairly sure the lose was just a fluke.

Anyway this has become a really long entry and I need to farm zeni for Armed Gears next week.

Looking toward the sky

So again I have been slacking. Piddle and I have pretty much made our first adventure into a weekly farming run. Haven't got anything great yet but still we get 3500 exp each time plus a little gil. We plan on going again tomorrow night.

Our CoP group beat Tenzen this week. Was a really easy fight. I was able to go /SAM which was cool but still I wish it was more challenging. Since it was so easy though we were able to get it done quickly (once meph awoke from his power nap). This allowed us to move on and run around in sky to fight some NM Aerns for 8-1. Got our Tavnazian Rings finally and on our way to finishing up CoP and getting our other rings.

Been going up to sky a couple times a week to farm pop items for Genbu. So far we have 2 pop sets and an extra water. We are planning on fighting Genbu twice on monday unless we can come up with another Gem from Zip. I really appreciate everyone helping on the newly 75 BLM's by farming pops and fighting Genbu. Really glad that our linkshell comes together for things like this. Only wish that we had enough people to do other gods as well but I'll settle for Genbu.

I was bored one night and was farming lightning clusters on Qufim Island. Itaz gave me an >_> and reccomended I go to sky and farm them there and get exp and seals while I was at it. So I geared up on BLM and headed out there. Got lost a little lost and then Itaz came to lead me. By the time he got there I had started to find my way. Fought one while he was there to make sure I would be fine. Was no problem so he logged out.

I ended up farming there for quite a bit. Got about 20 clusters or so and would have got more but I was only messing around so wasn't fighting as many as I could. After a while my friend Stan logged in and I went out to west saruta [S] to fight elemental pets with him on BLM. We messed around out there until Tybo got on.

They had planned a merit party ahead of time and I decided to join in. It wasn't the best exp because we were all DD's except for Stan on RDM. Not the ideal set up for a meripo in my opinion but still we made due and got about 12k/hr. Still the nice thing about the party was it being a full party of friends making it more enjoyable than a simple PUG meripo.

Went on a Mercury crafting frenzy with all the clusters I got. Wasn't a lot on AH so I actually ended up putting a few stacks up which netted me some extra gil over the npc price I normally get. Either way its a profit but nice to get that extra bit. Fought Intulo once while I was out in bibiki bay. Got a Curaga Earring which I can npc for ~5k.

I ended up spending my merits on Enfeebling Magic so now I am 2/8. So now these are what my BLM Merit goals look like.

MP: 2/8
INT: 1/5
Enfeebling Magic: 2/8
Elemental Magic: 0/8
Lightning Potency: 1/5
Ice Potency: 1/5
Freeze II: 1/5
Burst II: 0/5

Still a long way to go but I am gradually creeping along.

I fell back to my slump

Yes I know I promised regular posts and you got them for a while. I just have been busy. We finished up the last part of Three Paths. It was an amazingly simple fight. Later on Piddle helped me with the next fight which we duo'd as blm/rdm and war/nin. It was pretty easy as well. We also did the Brothers fight again. Was a lot smoother and barely took us anytime at all once we got into the BC. Only thing that dropped was leather again. I decided to let Piddle have it since I got the first one.

I did a bunch of other little stuff around Vana'diel but not all of it is worth going into detail. I actually had fun in MMM for once which was good. I had really lost all interest in it for a while. Uncapped is a lot more fun and though it's still not my favorite thing to do, I am sure I could be convinced to do it again. KSNM run went decent enough. Just really weird BC fight that seems completely random to a certain degree.

Then we did the Ultima and Omega fight for CoP last night. It was an incredibly tough fight but it is my favorite so far. It's the only one that has really given our group a challenge so it was exciting to test our limits and still to come out ahead. Now according to Itaz my goal is to get SAM to 75 within two weeks which will be our next BC fight.

The Adventure

Our adventure started when we heard tales of two beasts that needed to be slain. Rumors were flying about our linkshell (a social community of adventurers) that somewhere deep in the mountains of the Uleguerand Range the were two beasts needing to be slain. The leader of our linkshell advised us to speak with a Galka named Zabada who would be "Where the fierce land of Xarcabard meets the even fiercer terrain of the Uleguerand Range." We traveled to the Outpost of Xarcabard and made our way toward the Range.

Once there we did meet up with Zabada whom Yevna failed to describe as underclothed. I am not sure how he was not freezing to death. Maybe I am just unaware and the Galka race has a thick hide and a layer of blubber similar to the king buffalo in the region. Wether that is the case or not I am still unsure and has little bearing on the story I am telling. So please allow me to continue. Zabada told us the story of two Tauri brothers, Eldertaur and Mindetaur. He spoke of both their evil deeds and the treasure they had gathered slaying innocent adventurers.

While the tales of the horrors these "Brothers" had commited burned us deep into our souls it was the rumor that hidden away the had the legendary Hedgehog Bomb stashed away that intrigued me the most. I thanked Zabada quickly and was in a hurry to be on our way. As we started to leave Zabada called out for us to wait. If it was not for Piddle I would have ignored the Galka's wishes. Piddle convinced me to stay and finish listening to the tale.

It was a good thing we did because it was then that I learned that without our own Zephyr Fan's we would not be able to pass the wind pillars to make it to the Brothers lair. Zebada informed us that he in fact had two fans that he was willing to part with for a price. He himself was unable to travel further into the Range and required some ice from the Spring of Chamneat. He told us of a great risk we would have to take to reach the spring. If only we had known how true it was.

As we continued our journey we had to pay special attention to the Tauri, you see it was two of their leaders that we were hunting. You see these beasts were granted the power to see through our magic diguises. We made our way across the treacherous terrain and on our way I felt my magic was weakening. I made the decision to renew my magic so I could continue to remain unseen. Unfortunately I failed in being completely aware of my surroundings. A nasty snoll came out from behind a pilar of ice in an attempt to destroy me. My fellow adventurer and friend was quick to react. He summoned his dark magic to lull the snow into a forced nap.

We decided at this point that we had no time to deal with a creature so trivial as this snoll was. We rested and summoned the energy to remove ourselves from the world of Vana'diel and into another realm. Shortly after we brought ourselves back to Vana'diel in which the snoll had lost interest in the disappearing Black Mages. It was time for our journey to continue. We made the proper preparations and set off again to continue travels to the spring. It came as a shock when we came upon the Legendary Jormungand. I wanted to slay the foul dragon then and there. Piddle reminded me that we had more pressing issues and that Jormungands time would come.

At this point we were approaching a cliff. "What is this all about?" I asked. "That naked bastard sword lead us right to a dead end." As I said this Piddle stared off in the distance and approached the cliff. He looked down. "I think I see where it is," he says "right there." "There is nothing there, how could you possible know that it's down there," I said "and even it was how would we get there." He then explained that we could have to slide down slope. I proceeded to call him insane and told him he was more off his rocker than I had thought he was if he thought I was going down that thing.

Then he jumped down and yelled "Aim for the hump!" I couldn't believe it but of course I had to follow. Otherwise who knows what kind of trouble he would get himself into. So I um.. aimed for the "hump". Yea easier said than done. Ignore the fact that I couldn't her myself think over my own screaming as I slid down to what I thought was going to be the death of me (and in a way it was) there was no "hump" that I could see. Which of course meant I made it to the ground instead of the ledge. Piddle on the other hand was able to make it on to the ledge. So now the plan was for me to die and him to use the power to move unconscious bodies to bring me up an the ledge as well.

This was an excellent plan (I don't mind being ko'd I am used to it with my two main professions) except for the fact he had no way to revive me in his current state. So from there developed the plan for him to go back to his mog house and meditate until he could regain the power to revive me once I was on the ledge. And so the plan continued and I purposely was defeated by an Ice Elemental. Then my body was dragged up on to the ledge with the magic powers of my dear friend. I wait there unconscious for my pal to return. Oh and I forgot to mention that before he dragged me up the ledge he went and got his ice from the spring.

He returned and raised me from below the ledge. He then returned once again to his mog house via our power as BLM's to warp to once again meditate to be more adept in the skills of enfeebling than the skills of restoration. As he made his way back from his second trip away I traveled deep into the tunnel of the ledge and made my way to the spring. I too collected my ice from the spring. We had made plans to rendezvous back at Zabada to collect our Zephyr Fans. I still have no clue what a mostly naked Galka needs with ice but if it made him help us with our goal I don't really care. From here it was time to make our way to tunnel under the water fall.

Around the range again we went this time both were able to keep under the cover of our magic until we reached our destination. Unfortunately we had been warned before hand that during icy weather the waterfall may be frozen over and block our entrance. This was in fact the case when we arrived. We knew that the icy weather would not last forever and we had heard tales of BLM's defeating the King Buffalo in the area. We decided to take our chances and try to take down a few of the beasts ourselves. We succeeded in doing so until the icy weather faded. Though there were many a close call but we always made it through the battles.

Once the icy weather stopped we both used magic to conceal ourselves and then made our way to the tunnel. Once inside we delved deeper until we found the Bearclaw Pinnacle and found the Wind Pillar. We went over our strategy to defeat the Brothers which were lying before us. We decided to have Piddle make the bigger brother sleep for as long as he while could drawing on every ability he had. The little brother would be mine to use the forces of gravity to slow him down as we both nuked him to oblivion. Once the bigger brother awoke it was my turn to draw on my abilities to lull him back to sleep.

We were able to get the little one out of our way before the big brother awoke again. Unfortunately I did not heed warning (along with past experiences with the Tauri) and faced him while I was casting. As a result I was doomed and had 10 seconds to live. I had brought my enchanted earring of raise with me so I was only worried of how long Piddle could hold the beasts attention while I recovered. I was pleasantly surprised at how well he did so. I was able to make a full recovery and we started to nuke down this brother as well. Also employing the methods of gravity and bind to keep the creature from being able to damage us physically.

Unfortunately Piddle succumb to the same fate as I and was doomed as well. He then rested as I took the monsters attention. Once he recovered we both had a new found passion and hatred for the beast and decided it was time to make our last stand. We nuked like there was not another battle after this one and that it was the only one that would ever matter. This is not the case and there will of course be other battles but this is how we felt at the time. At least I know it's how I felt. I can't speak personally for Piddle but through the emotion in the room when we defeated the second brother and located the treasure, I was sure he had felt the same.

The treasure was not what we had seeked but the battle was all the reward we needed. I heard a rumor that the brothers may have survived. So I have a feeling we may meet again and have another go at the treasure they have collected. Until then I hope you all enjoyed reading of my adventure.

New things.

So instead of our usual Under Observation we did an Up in Arms run on Thursday. Nothing rare dropped but all the 100% drops plus gil from winning ends up being around 60k. It may not be the best but compared to a lot of other BC's where a lot of the time you come out empty handed it was nice to have one that I knew I would walk away from with some gil at least. The fight was easy and Yev and I took the kraken's health down with no problem while Itaz kept the creature sleeping.

Friday night I did besieged and capped out all of my magic skills except for enhancing magic. After that I decided to do some farming/crafting. Spent most of my not doing that. Then Penelope asked for help on her Jelly Ring. Rai and I volunteered and met her in Sandy. We went in and luckily the Sewer Syrup was already up and ready to be killed. We took it on with out too much issue and the ring dropped for Penelope. After that I went back to crafting and spent much of my morning doing that as well.

After a while Tybo and some other friends of ours decided to do the ENM for the Blau Dolch. I go climb the mountain and for one of the first times have no trouble doing so. Then we are all gathered at the entrace. Stanley enters and I try to follow. Whoops I forgot to trade the item back to get my key item. I can't get in. So thinking I may still be able to get in if I run back and get item, I do just that. The whole time I hear them on TS talking about how they are wiping. So now I feel like a complete asshole. I finally make it back and we are hoping to recover from the fight and finish it up once I get in.

Unfortunately I couldn't get in since they had already engaged the mobs. So then they had a new idea to try but wiped again. Sad thing is that I know if I was there we probably would have won without any real issues. After that Yev mentioned another ENM called Brothers that me and Piddle could duo. After that the two of us set out on an adventure filled with a snow slide, buffalo, icy weather and doom.

I started writing about our adventure and in turned into more than just a blog entry so I am going to finish here and later I will post again with the full story. I hope everyone enjoys reading it.

Getting harder

I can always for the most part think of something to write, yet every time I do it is getting harder to come up with titles for the posts. I am not exactly sure why but oh well. I ended up being a bit late for the BC run (glad I logged out @ the BC) since we were really busy at work and because of that it took us longer to finish closing. It was interesting having a BST join instead of a NIN but was still easy enough.

Yevna d/c'd a couple times both at inconvenient times but still we were able to win the BC with no real problems. On both mine and Yevna's orbs nothing but junk dropped. On Piddle's run though we got a Ni scroll, it's no PCC but still better than getting nothing which has happened to us quite frequently in the past.

Afterward I mentioned to Yev that the Up In Arms BCNM is a guarenteed 60k and a slight chance at a Kraken Club. Yea the drop rate is abysmal but so is the drop rate on the PCC though the PCC isn't quite as bad. But, like I said before though many times we have left Under Observation with nothing but junk usually amounting to maybe 10-15k. So we decided to set up a run on Thursday night after I get home from work.

I seem to use be able to use my beastman seals more often than my kindred's seals so really would like to plan another run for those at some point. Though it is harder to get 6 people together instead of three.

Tonight did the gargoyle fights and then went on to do the snoll fight for the Three Path's mission of CoP. The Gargoyle fights took a lot longer than I expected but were easy overall. Then we moved on to the Snoll fight which was pathetically easy. I brought way too many salts. I'm not sure how many were even used but my guess would be only 1. I remembered what I read on the wiki wrong and used the wrong ws which did very lame damage. Even so the fight was a cake walk.

I wanted to continue on, but it was getting too late for a lot of our members. I totally understand but sometimes it is very very frustrating being a late night west coast player. Not wanting to be a complete slave driver I didn't whine too much about not continueing. Since Piddle has a short time next week anyway it won't be a big deal to get the last BC out of the way then. I am just really eager to delve further into the story of CoP not to mention get access to sea and my Rajas ring.

I think tomorrow night I am gonna try to level SAM some more. Later all.

The Rest

So when I left off I was waiting for salvage to start. We went in and everything went pretty smooth as usual but as always the nm's were stingy as hell. I think we are planning a boss run for next week. Personally I agree with Val, bosses are pointless if you don't have the 35's for the pieces already. Oh well though, the only reason I go to salvage is to hang out with my friends. So far since we have started salvage all I have got are a few 15 pieces and I am pretty sure I am not the only one.

Really if I didn't enjoy the company of my friends in the shell (and flicking shit back and forth with Lan) I would just stop going to Salvage. Honestly Salvage is almost a cosmic joke in FFXI. ZNM on the other hand I always enjoy and unlike Salvage pretty much everyone gets what they want or will undoubtedly will in the future. Unfortunately we got a late start on ZNM's and weren't able to use all our pop items.

I really enjoyed the fight though, really got to have fun on BLM. I am sure quite a few of the others weren't so excited since all they did was sit around and watch the nm get sleeped and time nuked by all the BLM's. I really didn't want to stop since I was having so much fun even though I was exhausted from work this week and getting up way earlier than normal. Yet it was getting late for the east coasters and we had to call it a night.

I went to bed and woke up later and muled a bunch of stuff of my main and got my NIN 40 cap INT gear muled to my main. I headed out to the bcnm for the PCC, after grabbing my star orb in jeuno, so than when I get of work I am ready to go. I just hope Yev and Piddle are ready as well so Piddle won't be up too late since unlike Yev and I, he isn't on the west coast. Anyway I should take a nap before work.

Hopefully I will post tonight after the BC or tomorrow after we do CoP. Later my faithful readers.

Waiting

So as the title suggests I am currently waiting. Salvage is scheduled to start in a little over 30 minutes. So I figured while I have an hour I could use some of that time to post on my blog. So Friday night I got home and was gonna go BLM it up but rl stuff came up. I wish I would have just stayed home, things did not go well but that story would be for a whole different blog. Anyway I basically ditched out on Laa, Jir and Meph. >.<.

The next morning I ended up getting up early (not by choice) and decided I would log on to see what was going on. Tybo was on and I mentioned I wanted to level SAM. So we went out to the Thickets and started picking on birds. Stayed there for a while then decided we wanted to try out one of the new FoV areas. We decided to try Cape Terrigan and went for the crab and goblin page. Wasn't too difficult even though the gobs were VT, only issue we really ran into was not being able to dispel the crabs.

I think we did 3 regimes before I was starting to pass out. So I told Tybo that I needed a nap and would be back later. 3 hours later I get back on, Tybo and Casque are out duo'ing NM's in La Vaule [S] for the SCNM. I brought out BLM and it was really a lot of fun. I died a few times but not really a big deal. It was one of the first times I was able to use BLM without level sync since I hit 75. The fights were really long but very fun. Again though around midnight I started nodding off again.

Then Today I woke up at 6 am. X_X. I couldn't get back to sleep so I logged on and started messing around. I finished crafting up some mercury that I had mats for and realized I also needed silent oils. Made some of those up and also some powders. Then remembered that I needed Zeni. Luckily it was tigers and they were pretty much right outside whitegate. Was able to get enough pics to finish off the 3k I needed for a pop item for Nuhn.

Did some more crafting after that, then switched to RNG to get ready for Nyzul Isle. Since a couple of our members were MIA we decided to farm instead of climbing (so we wouldn't have to repeat ourselves). First attempt we failed and timed out. Really was just a case of bad luck. Second two runs were amazingly quick climbs. First fafnir was a cake walk but no drop. Second one was a pain in the ass (still not sure why). Yet again no drop. I did get the killer bow, so if for some reason I decide I want a shitty ws for when I use a crossbow, I can break the weapon. Still was nice to get something.

Well getting closer to Salvage time. I'll try to post again later. Sorry Hugin I know this is a longer post but it is only stuff from a day and a half. >.<

The Beast

I don't think I held back so much even on RNG. Such a crazy job and seems like S-E just keeps making it beastlier. Oh well, if you haven't caught on I am talking about Samurai. After being denied some BLM exp (I understand though, if exp is already low adding another BLM isn't going to help) I decided to seek on SAM while doing some FoV. I wasn't sure what I could handle so I went out to OP in the desert and started there.

It was way too easy but by the time I was looking to move camps (after one training regime) I had got an invite. So I was off to kill birds in the Woodlands. The party leader asked me if I had a problem with going /nin. I said no, well because I didn't have a problem with it. Then asked me to pull. I explained I would have a whole mess of hate if I did that but then they suggested the DRK/SAM pull with poison, so I said I would pull. At least I had shadows.

Still I was a SAM with a polearm poking birds, I tried eating food it was gone everytime within 90 seconds. Still it was a very decent party. I popped my anny band twice and my emp band once. Went from 2k into 62 to 63 with some kind of buffer (I don't remember how much.) Even though the party was going good a couple hours in I got bored. Asked for the leader to look for a rep and decided to go farm and relax until it was time to sleep. Speaking of time, It's time for work.

Capped!

So last night I harvested my gardening, did some farming, and skilled up in besieged. Still need to skill up more, damned level sync. Oh well though if it was for level sync I probably would not be 75 yet so I can't complain too much.

To night once I got home it was time for Swift Belt round 2. Meph got his internet back so he was able to join us this week. Celess joined us as well. We had a little bit of trouble with a couple of fights but overall it turned out very well. We went 3/5 on the swift belts and Jiront, Mephisto, and Celess all got theirs. I d/c'd and had to go restart my modem before the last fight. By the time I got back it was time for the nm. It went smooth and we got the drop which was the last one we needed (for Celess).

After I asked who was up for BLM exp. Jir, Laa, and Lp all said they were up for it. Only thing that sucked was we were syncing to Jir/RDM Lp. That meant back to the days of no staves. We went out to West Saruta [S] and fought some elementals. Then something strange happened, Laa went to bed and Jir stayed up and got exp for longer. Crazy isn't it? It was rough at first but then we fell into a groove somewhat and were all able to get some decent exp. Jir got 51 on BLM and Lp got 51 on RDM. I capped exp and got a merit point and am 1.7k tnm.

Overall a very good night and now it's time to find something to do. Either farm or maybe see if there is a FoV I can do on SAM. Later all.

Sidetracked

So I got on last night to farm a bit before I slept. I went afk for a bit and when I came back there was someone farming my efts. I started killing them again as well. At some point he sent me a tell. I responded back and then he told me he was looking for an HQ eft skin for a gobbie bag quest. I had a couple on me from the night before and I honestly didn't want to compete not only for efts but in case Intulo popped as well.

So I decided to help him out while preserving my own interests as well. I told him if he left I would hook him up with an HQ skin. He agreed, we traded and he went on his merry way. Interestingly enough the next eft I fought dropped another HQ skin. I went on to get one more and of course bought more jellyfish to later craft into mercury. Which I usually just npc but last couple of nights I noticed there wasn't many stacks on the AH so I threw a few up along with the skins.

After a while of farming Itaz asked if anyone wanted to do a level sync party with him. I figured I had some time to kill and farming was getting boring. I said I would go and threw up in the ls chat what jobs I would be willing to go as. I ended up co-tanking on WAR with the NIN in the party. I muled to get what gear I could find. Not the best WAR gear out there I am sure but it was good enough to get the job done.

We ended up in the Desert fighting beetles and giraffe's. Was a very decent party until the whm "d/c'd" as Itaz put it. Ended the party with 471 exp tnl, which was fine since while I do enjoy warrior it isn't on my top list of priorities. After that I did some crafting and went to bed. Hopefully tonight I remember to post after I am done and not right before I log in the next day.

Almost capped.

So I ended up doing a few campaign battles on SAM/DNC and got my level. Not too bad it was less painful than RNG or BLM but still campaign isn't really my thing. Even so, now I am sitting on a 62 SAM and hoping at some point during the week I can get a real party.

I logged on tonight and was still on SAM and I thought about going to do some more campaign but then I saw Lp was soloing on BLM. I figured I'd ask if he wanted company. He said sure so I geared up and headed out. I was still surprised the exp was still really decent @ 68. We duo'd for about an hour and a half and I went from about 16k to cap to about 4k to cap. Lp was 1.2k tnl but was tired so he decided to log.

Overall it was pretty fun, had a few close calls and had to log three times. The last time we aggro'd two Giga's and Lp had 8 hp when we logged out! But all things come to an end. Nice to know next time I go out on BLM I can start meriting. Anyway got some more lightning crystals so it's time to craft. Later all.

Friday, May 8, 2009

I said I would try...

So I am currently seeking on 61 SAM it's 2,678 tnl. I still have quite a bit of meriting and gear to get for BLM so it's not retired by any means. I have almost capped exp on BLM now 16kish until cap I think. Which is only less than a couple hours at the Inlet. Lp talked about maybe syncing to my SAM for exp there but tbh I don't like the idea. I really enjoy SAM so sitting around and doing weapon skills every three minutes isn't really my idea of playing SAM.

Only seeking on SAM atm because none of my BLM friends are on atm. Really excited about meriting it. Should be a good thing though since I need a job that do merit parties without spending an ass ton of gil to do so. I really don't mind spending money on gear since I'll always have it until I decide to sell it or something. It's just going on RNG cost me an arm and a leg each time. It then leaves me with no gil to buy new gear.

I have some pretty good ways of making gil it's just depressing to watch it drop every sunday when I go to re-up on my RNG stuff.

Oh also CoP was cancelled this week and will be again next week which kind of sucks but kind of rocks. I got my Swift Belt!!! So did two others we went 3/4. This next week though we are gonna go back and try again for Jir. Which I am more than happy to do. Still can't wait to get back on to CoP and finish the 3 paths and beyond.

Anyways I am trying to keep it short so Hugin will read the whole thing. As I told him I will try to post regularly. Later all.

I need to change the name of my blog!

What a journey it has been. Tonight/This morning I finally hit 75 BLM. What a wonderful journey it has been. I want to thank everyone who helped make it possible, Tybo, Laa, and Lp most of all because those three were there a lot during the final stretch and w/o them I might not have even made it to 70 yet. Also I want to thank Itaz, Rolen, Jir, Piddle, and Meph also for joining in on the BLM fun, when they could. If I am forgetting anyone I am very sorry it's almost 6 am and I should get some sleep.

As much as there is to catch up on, I know there is plenty since it's almost been to weeks since I last posted, I really do need to try and get some sleep before work. Hopefully I will have some time after the Swift Belt run to do some blogging that has more details.

Had to log hate after I leveled so didn't get a SS of that. Oh well. Time for bed.

The Final Stretch

So I should really update more often. I forget a lot of what I do with in a weeks time. Seems last time I made a post I was 69 BLM. Apparently at some point I got 70 though I don't remember exactly when. I do remember getting 71 though. Tybo and I went out and started duo'ing Puddings in Mount Zhayolm Monday morning. We ended up talking to then inviting any BLM that showed up to our party. Was great experience and even though the exp per kill was lower the best exp per hour was @ 5 BLM's. Only one BLM mage I spoke with turned down my offer for a party. Still not sure of the reason but oh well.

Um. To back up a bit at some point I got Jupiter's Staff which completed the big 3 for BLM. Honestly I would like to own all HQ stave's but first would like to focus on other gear needed for BLM. Then start with my goal for attaining the other HQ stave's.

That was an old pic but I thought it was funny and sort of relevant.

Sunday I slept through assaults. It really drives me crazy when I do that. It just can be really hard for me to wake up sometimes. I woke up at one something and most's the assaults were done. I think I did some Pankration while I waited for Salvage. (I passed out again while doing so.) Salvage went pretty well imo except for the fact nothing dropped. I also decided to go for a Mythic weapon though I doubt anyone took me serious. Still not exactly sure which one but most likely the Vajra.

Good to have a long term goal even if it is crazier than Itaz and his 2 Salvage body pieces. ZNM sucked when trying to do it "Legit". Wasted two pop items trying to find a way to do enough damage to the main nm and deal with the spawns. Eventually we gave in and did the zone strategy which felt a bit less rewarding but actually was more rewarding in regards to getting items. Personally I'll take the items and let others feel like they are superior.

Then Monday after the manaburn died down it was time for Dynamis-Bastok. I was finally able to go as BLM and I really enjoyed it. Was a lot more to do than when I was on RNG. Oh and I got the kill shot on the Mega Boss.

Had a lot of dead people on the ground from the AoE but I was able to stay out of Range and nuke it and at the final 1% cast drain on it as everyone was dying and some were deleveling. Then rested up and started casting raise on those I could.

Then last night we did some CoP. I was really disappointed that one of our members didn't show up. Unfortunately I had to make the decision to go without him. Not one I wanted to make regardless of what some may think. I was upset before at a previous situation with the same member but I got over it and was all for giving him another chance. I had mentioned a little bit in my post 5.2 post wasn't anything bad but I decided to go back and minimize what was said. Basically the same message but less wordy.

I do want to say that at first I felt very bad about deciding to continue on without him. This was due to the fact that the first post I made was very short notice (well everyone knew I wanted to continue on but wasn't sure if I could get the people). I made a post monday night saying I thought I might have the people to go.

Today I confirmed it before heading to work and made a post. So yea it was late notice. Before work I also gathered what anima's I could and sent them to those who should have been going on the mission and I knew probably didn't have any. This included Piddle, Kyzuf, and Celess. The kicker is when I realized Celess wasn't on and Kyzuf had called him repeatedly and wasn't answering I decided to go pull the anima I sent to Celess out of my Delivery Box so I could send them to someone who would be able to attend. They weren't there.

Meaning he at least logged in sometime after I went to work and before I got home and checked his Delivery Box seen CoP related items. Either ignored the ls message or wasn't on Blue (which is fine not a requirement to be on Blue 24/7.) But one would think someone would check the ls in which they normally do CoP with on the day the normally do said CoP.

Bleh this is turning into a rant and borderline attack on a fellow ls mate. That's not a good thing so I am gonna stop there.

We were a bit behind schedule due to some confusion after the situation occured. Still even a little behind we were able to get back on track and climbed to floor 4 without a hitch. Killed the two nm's and were about to move on when after he had been complaining about lag for a while Hawkman (a friend who also needed the mission d/c'd). We waited for a little while then me and Tybo made the decision to move on. We had a feeling that he was already tired before the d/c and that if he couldn't get right back on he probably would give up and go to bed.

It appears we made the right choice because he didn't show back up. We continued on and got to the 5th floor nm. Took it on and decided to move on to the BCNM and at least give it a go. We still had six people but due to a misunderstanding we had 2 whm's. Turned out to work out very well. The fight was amazingly easy and we were very close to setting the record even though we had two WHM's instead of another DD in one of there places. Still I think our set up was a very safe one and actually very effecient. PLD WAR WAR BLM WHM WHM for those wondering.

Afterwards I ran around did a few cs's read up on the next mission and planned the future of the CoP group for the next 2 weeks.

Again I want to say that I am very glad that Blue is my home in FFXI and here's to the Final Stretch of BLM the reason I decided to start blogging in the first place.

I'm a Slacker. Sue me.

Ok so again I am slow with the updates. So seems like last time I checked in I was just barely 67. So quite a bit has changed. Thanks to me being not so picky I decided to join Laa and Lp one night for BLM trio even though they were well below Staves level. Boy am I glad I did. Not only was it a lot of fun the exp was great as well and on the first night I got 68.

We went to West Sarutabaruta [S] first two nights and Rolen joined us one night and Itaz another. Second night Laa and Lp hit 47 and exp started to dip a bit so we decided the next day we would go to Gustav Tunnel. Oh yea 41 is where we started so 6 levels in 2 nights! The next night we went to Gustav tunnel as I said. Unfortunately the exp per kill was lower than I was expecting but we still were getting great exp per hour due to a SAM there killing mobs in the way to other BST's and their pets.

So at a few points we had 4 BST mobs that we could pull from. Tybo came out and joined us for a while and we were getting quite a few chain 5's. Oh and I got 69 BLM that night! Laa and Lp got 50 so we are AM levels now. I think both Laa and Lp leveled a bit without me which is a good thing because I think they both hit Staff level. Which is a "Yay!" in my book.

Sunday I didn't sleep and got all the way up to the final BC in A Crystalline Prophecy. Got lucky as I was aiming to get my Mark of Seed for first BC I got a /tell asking if I wanted to do the fight. I jumped on the chance and got the fight done with relative ease. Except the tank d/c'd with one mob left. But it was easy enough to kite around until he showed back up so we would not have to redo the fight. Finished the rest of the cs's and climbed up the Tower and was ready for final BC.

Then it was time for assaults. Got those done 2x RvB and 2x Lamia No. 13. Lamia was fun because it was the first time I was able to bring BLM to assaults. After we got done I saw a shout for final BC for ACP. I think we had a pretty good set up but the fight is a crazy one. Still I saw a few things that could have been tweaked for a better set up. We lost the fight @ 30% when the PLD got charmed.

They all wanted to go again but I was already starting to run late for codex and panty farming. So I had to go. We went to start the Codex farming and it took a while but me and Terre finally got our codex's. We then started to farm THF fomors for panties. Val got his panties but everyone was starting to get tired or something so Yev didn't get hers >.<. I was passing out but I was doing that all day. I had wanted to stay on and exp with Laa and Lp some more on BLM but If I didn't sleep I was probably going to die.

Monday I did Dynamis-Windurst for the first time. Everything was going well until we had to hug a wall to get past some mobs. Apparently at this point a single person can ruin an entire run. Which is exactly what happened. Everyone wiped. We tried a couple more times to just farm but wiped twice more. Then gave up and called it a night. After that a rl friend I haven't seen in a while had called me and wanted to hang out. Since it was my day off I decided to go over there. We played Call of Duty: World at War for like 5 hours. Then I came home and decided to try to get ACP done again. Saw a shout pretty quickly and decided to join.

Oh I forgot before Dynamis I climbed the tower for a second time. Anyway back to my story of how I hate my interconnectarwebz. So I get to the top of the tower and was waiting for everyone to arrive. Then my internet dies. It takes about 30 minutes for it decide to start working again. By then of course they have decided to replace me. I was pissed of course but I understood at the same time. It is the nature of pick up parties.

So I decided I would join Itaz and get my fomor hate taken care of. Didn't take long but again had an issue with my internet. I was very upset at this point and checked my fomor hate and logged out. Checked gardening on mules and logged out for the night after that.

Logged on today and was in Tavnazia. I had to switch to BLM still and I was already running a bit late due to some car issues. Finally got to Sacrarium and we went to go get the cs then off to fight the nm. Was a pretty interesting fight. I think we did well even though Laa was having connection issues. Afterwards though we had to farm another key due to some issues that should have been forseen.

Not blaming anyone I read the same thing and knew the same circumstances and didn't see the issue either. So we started off and things were kind of slow so I decided to go grab THF and run back so we would have TH2 and a more constant DD. Came back and wiped twice due to me thinking Sacrarium fomors didn't party. After the first pull I had suspicions but Itaz said they didn't party so I figured I just made a bad pull and after we killed the other fomors again I would try again. The second pull again led to 3 fomors and a wipe. We did manage to kill the red mage before we went down and it dropped the key we needed.

So we went on and I decided to get antsy and aggro'd a Taurus. I decided to make it a sac pull since I was already going to die and made a run for the door. Mrpiddle had to tractor me a couple times. Then I got a raise and we headed for the door to get our cs's (well Kyzuf, Celess, and I's cs's). After this we were done and started discussing next weeks event or lack there of.

Joined another ACP final BC run. Not even close this time. Not a good set-up at all. Oh well. Eventually I will climb the tower again. This fight is very reminescent of early days of CoP where you need to throw SMN's and RNG's at the boss. Really very lame. Oh well.

Still I knew the fight was fail before we went in. I like to try new things though so I decided I would go even though there was a DNC in the party. Epic fail but oh well. Seems like I am not destined to get my coveted RNG haste.

Anyway it's time to check my gardening and go to sleep.

EDIT: I totally forgot to say that I opened a chest in Sacrarium. I had the key from last weeks farming run. Peoples were like "wtf?" and all I said was "what a strange room" figured if anyone needed to know why 3.6k gil showed up in their wallets magically they could read my blog and find out.

Another Day.

So I finally convinced Itazura to join me on SCH to duo. We started out and were doing decently. I was pleasantly surprised actually on the capabilities of SCH. I was talking to Tybo on TS before we went and he was telling me how SCH was slower at using magic. While I did witness that to be true SCH was still a very useful job to have around and Itaz usually had plenty of mp which made chains easier. Another BLM showed up and was 73. I felt the need to preemptively make sure there was no fighting over mobs. I asked him to join. They agreed. I think they were JP. Didn't really say much but fell right into the groove with Itaz and I.

The only thing I did notice was he didn't cancel his stoneskin when Itaz would announce he was going to recast. Knowing Itaz he was probably slightly annoyed but really didn't turn out to matter much in my opinion. Ran around for a couple hours (maybe longer) killing qiqirns got a few chain #5's which was nice to see. Haven't seen those on BLM since I have no longer been able to one-shot pets. Got to about 7k~ tnl and Itaz asked my tnl which meant he was getting sleepy. So I asked the other BLM how long they had. They said 30 minutes so we went a bit longer and I got to 3k~ tnl and then gave Itaz and D2 and warped myself.

I did something in windy (can't remember what) then warped back to whitegate via the jerk that made me run all over town. Anyway headed to the lower level qiqirn camp and messed around there slowly getting exp while watching 30 rock on Netflix. (Oh yea I have dual moniters now which is great!) Nice getting to watch tv shows or movies while messing around on BLM. Anyways eventually I got my level (67) and decided I would try skilling up on these instead of going to campaign battles. It actually worked a lot better.

Didn't have to travel anywhere, very low risk of death, in fact I've died more in campaign skilling up. Also nice not having to wait for campaign battles. As usual I used dia and bio for dark and enfeebling. Also drain to get health back. When it came to elemental magic skills I spammed tier I spells and by the time I ran out of magic (enough mp to cast sleep II) I had the qiqirn down to 30% already. So instead of letting it heal up I just got enough mp to do a couple tier III's and finish it off.

The Bio and dia ones though I had to run over water to lose them and rest up and start over. but still was able to get a small buffer (only about ~1k) while skilling up elemental. Which was another added bonus compared to campaign.

Then it was time for sleep. Got home from work today and it was harvest time. Got a really good harvest on one character and the rest were pretty meh. Still though I would recommend it to anyone. Very easy gil and not all that time consuming. Actually thinking about it now I would change that to recommend it to anyone that logs in daily. lol. Then Tybo said he wanted to do something on his thf.

We ended up going to farm in SSG. The camp we usually use was taken (which has been happening a lot lately when we decide to go there) so the trip was pretty much a bust. Still it was pretty fun and I brought out BLM just to mess around. Got into a very exciting situation with a NM Sahagin, a blue sahagin(melee), and a bat. Was a crazy drawn out fight but entertaining at the least.

He had to get to bed early though and we weren't making much gil anyway so he logged out. I headed out to get some jellyfish and made a bit of mercury. Supply of fish was low (that's been happening a lot lately as well) but still was able to make a few gil of that.

Now I am sitting at my moogle thinking of what to do next. Pretty sure I'm gonna find a way to make some more gil.

Also again was very impressed with SCH in duo/trio situation I don't think I seen very many resists at all. Itaz said he has 6 elemental merits though but still very impressed. RDM would not have been able to keep up like SCH did. Itaz said he still preferred main healing (to each his own I guess) but I still hope that it was good enough of a time to hopefully get him to come out again sometime.

Ok enough avoiding farming >_<. Thanks for reading and see you in game!

Time to play catch up again.

So last time I made a post was nearly a week and a half ago. I've done a bit since then so going to get down to it. Found a nice place for a duo on BLM a while back and went from 64-66 lately hanging out there with Tybo while he capped his experience for his BLM. Really enjoyed having someone else around on BLM since I spent most of my time solo on this job. We were pulling in some crazy experience as well. I would compare it to an average pick up group or better which says a lot for a two-man group. Been trying to get others to join me as well. Very interested in trying to get Itaz to come out with us on SCH. I am very curious about how well it can perform.

Also been making progress in our CoP static. We finally caught up to where I am in the missions tonight so by next week I should be personally making progress in CoP once again. I am very excited about the whole thing and can't wait to get to see the storyline progress finally. I won't mind getting my Rajas ring at all either.

Also on Monday I did Dynamis-Jeuno and got my first piece of Relic. Was the BLM feet which seems to be a very nice piece can't wait to get the 5 more levels I need to wear them. Too bad the RNG relic didn't drop would have much rather had a piece I could use right away. Thursday is Dynamis-Windurst but not sure I will be able to make it due to work and how late we always enter. Might go for a while but not really sure.

I'm sure there is more I did but can't really think of it at the moment. Maybe I will post again once I think of something.

Experience for SAM, Level for BLM

So got on this morning and we got to assaults earlier than usual. First up we got me floor 1-5. It was offered that we climb twice but I am in no hurry to climb the floors. Second run we did boss and no gear drop but we got PLD sword for Itaz so not all was lost. After second run I let Val take my place. They did a couple more runs and I tried to take a nap before work. Unfortunately I was unable to sleep. I came back and went on a Apkallu Breeding farming run. Only 600 points away from Chiv chain for SAM.

I was going to buy one and replace it the following weekbut Yev offered to do another apkallu breeding tomorrow so I decided to just wait. I went to work it sucked. Then I came home and started gearing up SAM. A little while later Tybo got home and fired up Team Speak. We mauled over some options. He was in SSG and went to check our farming camp. It was taken so we decided on plan b. Lesser Colibri and beg Acina to come along on DNC to make sure we don't die. At first we went to the Thickets as usual but there was a DRG there solo'ing.

We went to the Woodlands and picked an open camp. It happened to also be the camp for a nm that happened to drop an earring I wanted for SAM when I hit 70. Eventually the NM popped. The 3 of us didn't have the right jobs to take down the nm plus we had bands up. I mentioned it was up in ls chat. Then Lp decided he wanted to try to solo it. He came out on NIN/DNC and gave it one hell of a shot on the first try. But unfortunately he went down. He then came back to try again. The three of us continued to get exp while he again took down the mob.

This time was different though. He killed the mamool. It was pretty bad ass to be honest. Are bands burned up and Ace headed back to whitegate as Tybo and I stayed to watch. He whooped on that poor bird and I invited Lp so that Tybo could get some TH on the mob. It dropped the earring and Lp was nice enough to let me have it after all his hard work. I am very much in debt to Lp. I definately owe him something. Not sure what I can do to repay him after the earring and the Phalanx spell.

After that it was time for bed for Tybo and Ace. I did a /sea and checked out Bibiki Bay. Completely empty. So I geared up BLM and went to the AH. Bought myself a strap that I should have had 2 levels ago. Then I also bought a Penitent's Rope. 400k >.< but oh well it is a very nice piece of gear. But now I am back down to less than 300k. Oh well. Still need my Jupiter's staff and a few other pieces that I would like to have as well. Picked up some more mercury fishy's on my way to the camp.

Got started and everything was going great and was getting 7k+ an hour. Eventually other started showing up apparently wanting my camp but they eventually left. A chharacter named Tinywind showed up and asked to join me. He said he only had 30 minutes. I wasn't too excited about it (I was getting 300+ exp per kill and was capping out at 420 exp on chain #4) but I decided to be a nice guy and I let him join. The exp dropped per kill but it was going fast enough that I wasn't losing much exp/hr.

Though until this point I hadn't died. Then I died. Was my own fault but still couldn't help to think this /random person threw me out of my groove. No more deaths while he was in the party and like he said he only stayed for a short time. But like I said by now I was out of my groove and I died 3 more times in a fairly short amount of time. Apparently the goddess Altana thought I had it too easy for most my experience towards my next level because I struggled very hard to get the last 3k. I ended up using the last charge of my rr earring. Then dying again. I really think the last part of this level was the most I struggled. Not sure as to the reason why.

But eventually I did get my level. 63 BLM now! Only 12 more levels to go. It's hard to imagine how close I am to having multiple jobs to 75. And even crazier to think that SAM isn't far behind @ 61 and THF isn't far behind that @ 59. Anyway I really should get some sleep.

Crazze's Blog - Now with Moar BLM Post!

Got 62 BLM last night then went and skilled up. Got Enfeebling Magic capped got a skill or two on elemental and dark. Also attacked fortifications while waiting for actually mobs in Rolanberry Fields [S]. Got up to 85 staff skill. Not bad considering most of that was afk time.

Then it was 9 am or so in the morning next thing I know and I see Yev say hi. My reaction was of course. Holy shit. I should go to sleep. I then continued to skill up. Not long after though I decided that sleep was a must. Went to bed then woke up and went to work.

Logged on after and went back to skilling up. After a while got dark and elemental capped as well. Then went afk and spent a bunch of time looking at new motherboards and CPU's. Found out it would cost me about $300 and I could have a pretty amped up PC compared to what I have now.

Anyway realized I should get ready for tomorrow and checked gardening on all my mules. Then headed to jeuno to deal with the AH. Put a bunch of stuff on the AH and repriced Ni. That's about all for tonight.

Friday, March 20, 2009

I should be sleeping.

Yet I am not. I went on 3 more Under Observation runs tonight. First two were with Yevna and Itazura as usual. We got a Ni on one run but the rest were junk. Then Itaz decided he was too close to empty on his seal reserve. So Yevna asked if Valenia would join us. He decided to come along on BLU. The first run was a bit sketchy but on the second run Val was able to kill his Eye creature quite a bit faster than I.

Still it was a bit scary at times due to breakga and firaga due to Val having to be close to the boss nm. It was still not a very big issue. We completed all three runs without any deaths and got another Ni spell. So should be another ~200k in a week or so due to the high volume of Ni spells on the market. I still prefer NINx2 and RDM but it is nice to know from experience that BLU is a very viable substitute for a NIN.

After that I muled my NIN gear away and jumped on BLM. I headed out to bibiki bay. I decided to pick up some jellyfish to make mercury at a later time. Headed to the north camp and start in. I camped there for a while and got quite a bit of exp. I had popped a band and was getting 500+ a kill. I can't imagine what the exp would look like with an Anniversary ring. Still I did not like this camp as much as the south one and died a couple times due to odd patterns of the rabbits.

Also one time I didn't even link with the goblin and the rabbit just went bat shit and double attacked on every round. Even with blink up I couldn't get a sleep off. Died again. Eventually after one of my /sea's I seen the other camp had opened up. I moved down to the South camp. Again after camping there for a while I would have to say this is my favorite camp of the 3. Eventually for some reason I decided to try a new strategy. Gravity > Water III > Sleep > Freeze. Seemed to be a lot more reliable than my last strategy and didn't even need blink. Though I still used it most of the time for saftey.

But yea it is way too early in the morning. I am only 1.8k tnl but I can't stay up for it. Oh well at least tomorrow I get to look forward to a level up. This time I really will need to go skill up in Campaign battles. Been uncapped for a while now. Anyways I need to sleep before work.

Back in Black.....Mage

So logged on tonight. Got on TeamSpeak as usual. Tybo said him and Ace were going to go duo on THF and DNC again. I asked if I could come along and then geared up SAM. One piece of gear just felt wrong though. The Scorpion Harness. Yes a great piece of gear but as SAM there is a better piece. Yes ding ding we have a winner. Haubergeon. I recently accumulated some wealth due to some luck in a bcnm which I mentioned in a previous post. So I decided to go to the Auction House to get myself one. 300k gone >.<. Oh well it was a much needed piece.

Bought it and set out to fight some Lesser Colibri. We all popped our exp bands and fought on until our dedications wore and it was bed time for the married couple. Only took 45 minutes for the bands to wear so overall some great exp/hr for a trio. I thought the evasion - 20 on the Hauby was going to be a big factor so I brought my SH with me just in case. Turned out it wasn't as bad as I thought. I did get hit more but Ace was able to keep me a live with no issues.

So I told myself and you readers that I would get on BLM tonight. So this time, I actually did. Bought a couple Genious Ring's. 130k a piece >.< Was looking at Penitent's Rope as well but it wasn't on the AH and it has risen a great deal in cost over the last week. So after the purchases I made my way out to Bibiki Bay. I had searched the area before hand and there were a BLM and a BLU already occupying the 2 camps. So I went to to my trusty BLM solo guide and found out there was a third camp. Got there parked myself and got started. I was a little rusty at first. It is no longer possible for me to one-shot pets anymore since I am not tarutaru and do not have ungodly gear.

So I started with Blink > Blizzard II > Sleep > Freeze. Sometimes that killed the rabbits but every once in a while I had to add a drain or water. Was getting decent exp but some bad calls on the pulls got me killed 3 times within a very close amount of time. I kept at it though and also kept doing a /sea. After a while one of the other camps opened up. I decided to test it out. Was a far more safe camp and the little bunny was a lot more predictible in it's path to me. Had no problems and continued with my previous method. This bunnies seemed a little tougher though and it seemed like more often I would have to cast a drain after my freeze.

I decided to switch out Blizzard II for Thunder II. Seemed to work a bit better. Still no deaths at this camp so overall I was having a better time and could relax a bit more. Then I dinged 61. Yep two jobs @ 61 now. I got a 1k buffer and figured I would start this post and go in between and get a bit more of a buffer every once in a while but not really worry about chaining or how much exp I was getting. The fates did not smile upon me though. First time I switched back to FF I wasn't paying attention enough and thought the Goblin had it's back turned when it did not. By the time I noticed it was too late. I tried to interupt my casting but Thunder II went off disregarding my pleas.

I had blink up though and got lucky even with the goblin and it's pet on me I managed to get off warp and sent myslef back to windy. So I got luck and and still have a 1k~ buffer. Yet now it is time to mule back to NIN for round two of Under Observation. I hope we strike gold again I still need a Jupiter's Staff which I wish I would have bought sooner. It was below or @ 500k when I was first looking at it. Now it is 650k. It seems to be a common trend with a lot of the BLM gear. Seems a lot of new BLM's are rising in level.

Well I only need 250k more >.< . Trying to level 3 jobs at once is not easy on the wallet. I guess THF might need to go on the back burner again for a while. Really too bad but can't blame me for saving the best for last. I am really digging BLM again and I am not sure why I put it down for so long. At the same time though I've been enjoying SAM a lot and unlike THF I don't mind pick ups for it. Maybe every once in a while I will still get to bring my THF out but for the most part it is once again suspended in time.

Just so everyone understands how much I hate doing that to THF. I have never muled my THF gear and it won't ever happen. I am ready to jump on THF any moment. I am Clark Kent and THF is my Superman.

Anyway. Again with the tangents. I think next time I go out on BLM I might get some exp and after a while put up my flag. Then add to my /seacom Black Mage exp party no thanks. You can have this! SAM. Might work might not who knows. Since each are the same level though it just might.

Okay yes I am putting of muling by continuing to write after I said I was going to mule. Sue me. Bleh. Fine. I'm going.

CoP - And so it begins...

So I to prepare for our new late night CoP static last night I bought a 4 stacks of light crystals and went to town on some distilled waters. Made 4 stacks plus 10. Cost per stack was 2880 and figured I would supply any who needed for the mission @ cost. It actually took me all day to make use four stacks because I took a muscle relaxer and for the live of me couldn't stay awake. Eventually I headed to Tav and logged out ready to go.

Luckily I had enough gear from all my other jobs to gear ninja pretty decently for 40 cap and didn't need to mule. Also Monday we just did Under Observation so I had all my ninja tools as well. Speaking of which we got both a utsusemi: ni and a Peacock Charm. So that pretty much averages us out to maybe 50k a run. Seriously we were owed this. lol. Anyway back to the matter at hand.

I logged out for a while to take a break once I made it to where I thought we were going to spend the night doing a CoP mission. Logged back on and decided to go mess around at test my skills as a Ninja since it had been a while since I played it other than Under Observation which for those of you that don't know the strategy, it is nothing like how a normal Ninja should act. So I solo a fish no issues ok let's try a slime. Slower fight of course but still doing ok. Then I get a /wave from Itaz. Sweet things are going to get started soon. He makes macros for white mage and tosses me a a couple cures.

This point I figure people will show up soon so to expidite the process I pull up the map and refresh my memory on how to get to the minotaur and start making my way to the whereabouts of the the afore mentioned beast. (The minotaur has a draw in ability that allows one person to make the trip and everyone else can wait at the entrance.) Celess joins our party as I am half way to the the location. Then I notice it party chat. Kc wait!. Um.. Ok.

Oh by the way Celess is the one that needed this mission and is the person we are currently trying to catch up to Kyzuf which in turn will catch up to me. Then the 3 of us will in turn catch up to Laa and complete CoP.

I go off on a lot of tangents when I write in my blog. Oh well. So back to the story. "Wait!" So I wait as Celess explains why SE should stop support for the ps2. I'm kidding I'm kidding. Please don't hurt me Yev. I think your one of the few people that read this thing anyway. But apparently the mission didn't register on his ps2 but did on the pc. So we did not have to do 2-3. Everyone kind of starts to think they are off the hook and can do more pleasant things with their night than CoP. Haha wrong. Well Lp got off the hook. But the others were not so lucky. I sprang into action and informed everyone that like or not we were doing Mammets instead.

Grumbles insued yet everyone came along. Itaz had to mule off of WHM and back to NIN which he was on the day before. I really felt bad but not much I could do to help that. Besides not forcing everyone onward. Where's the fun in that? Laa also had to mule to BLM but was a much quicker process for him since his gear probably wasn't spread over a multitude of characters as Itaz later told me his WHM gear had been so made muling a difficult process.

The rest of us were still ready to go on the jobs we had already had geared up. Celess got all of the CS's done. So while we waited for Itaz we decided to go farm some scales. We needed two. It tooks us two mobs to get that. Slightly un heard of. So with that done we waited for Itaz. By that time he was done muling and not far off. Once he arrived we headed to the BC area. Unfortunately for some reason Celess didn't make it through one of the portals so a giant scale was wasted. At the same time Laa d/c'd.

It was mildly annoying that we had to go get another scale but shit happens it's part of the MMO world. To my suprise the 3rd Firedrake fought that night also drops a scale. 3/3 is just ridiculous but I won't argue. It helped out time wise tremendously. Anyway Laa logged back in and we started our trek to Monarch Linn. Then Itaz d/c's. Someone mentions that he is going to get aggro and die when he logs back in. I hoped not. Then Itaz logs back in catches aggro and dies right in front of us. I wasn't sure what to do I froze up and I kept hoping he would use mijin and explode hisself as not to lose any experience.

Yet it didn't happen and we watched him die. = (

He reraised up and we continued on our trip. Made it to Monarch Linn w/o issue and Itaz explained the strategy and then we proceeded to follow through with it as most Blue events do. We kept the core facts then improvised as situations occured. Overall I think we did a great job a few deaths but no exp loss in CoP BCNM's so yay for that. I almost made it through without a death but on the last mob I ran out of shihei and had to use a toolbag. Then watch it change to DRG. First thing that popped into my head was hurry lock it there. So I did. Unfortunately this also happens to lock my ability to do anything for a short period of time. Long enough though to watch my hp drop to 0.

Still everyone else was able to hold on and defeated the last mob. Then everyone were free to go. Yet I roped in Celess and Kyzuf to stay up and get some more missions done. We climbed the mountain killed a some overgrown weeds and watched as Celess traveled all over vana'diel to finish getting cs's.

Then it was time for chip farming. It was late already and I knew we shouldn't go without a healer. Yet it is me and I do have this thing for doing the oppisite thing of what my brain tells me to do. So we go. I inform Celess that if we go down a floor we most likely are going to end up headed back to our HP unwillingly. Apparently Celess is as crazy as I am because I get done saying this then he follows me down the hole. When will people learn? Don't do as I do, do as I say. Otherwise I will likely get you killed. We actually did defeat quite a few beasties but as I knew would happened we ended up hitting the cement.

Still overall a very acomplished night. So next week the most we will have to do is farm a chip before Diabolos but I have faith that will get done before hand as well. Anyway I should go to sleep. I did sleep all day but I still need rest before I work later today. Oh and I am still hoping to get on BLM soon. I really think tomorrow's the night.

EDIT: 40k short of being a millionaire again. Which will last until less than an hour after I log in tomorrow most likely. Also I forgot to mention I npc'd the Holy Water and made a slight profit so not all was lost =). Also lightened the blog up a little and hopefully made it easier to read.
