So I haven't posted in a while and I have a little bit of time to do so now. First I am gonna play catch up then get to some of the things I did today.
Catch up: I got RDM to 30 only 7 more levels to go. I plan on saying f you scholar for now since it is very situational for BLM anyway from what I've heard/read. Been doing some quests in the past which are very fun and surprisingly rewarding. I helped Itazura with a WSNM which was actually quite fun and boring, odd combination I know.
I hit 57 on BLM not really sure I remember the details but I'm sure it was epic. =) I think it was probably the night of my last post. I have been taking a break from BLM to get RDM to 37. Also been skilling up my enhancing magic, which is absolutely horrible. I want it capped for stoneskin though so not much choice. I don't have ffxi running right now so not sure exactly but I think it's about ~15 from cap. When I started working on it was 50+ from cap. For those that have had to deal with this know it was very painstaking, for those that haven't lets just say I still wake up screaming.
Hmmm. What else? Oh I put 1 merit into INT I plan on eventually capping it I think. As an Elvaan the extra INT is very much needed. Will most likely be a while before I go much farther with it because stat merits are very expensive and I still need to work on merits for RNG.
That's all I can think of for catch up, I'm sure there was more but oh well you didn't come here to here my life story or my narrative of how I waited and waited for party invite on RDM.
The New: Today I woke up late for assaults. Found out Itazura and Yevna had parent aggro after I checked the forum. (I'm sorry to hear the bad news) Once they were free we took on some T10 assaults. It was great to finally get a taste of them after all I've heard. Bloody Rondo was pretty simple, I actually used hate control. Yea I know that doesn't sound like me but its true. Itazura died right as we killed the mob. Damned doom. >.>
Next was Black Shuck(Cerberus) The fight was going great Gates of Hades barely phased us twice. We were heading to victory. Then Yevna and Itazura d/c'd. Then everyone proceeded to die. (Don't worry, I don't blame you two. Shit happens.) Still they came back and we made a valiant effort to salvage the run. No such luck. So being the ls/group that we are we jump right back in. We enter the assault and right after we get in the d/c again. It was no problem tho we still had time at least it wasn't mid-fight again. Then it turns to Firesday. For those that don't know, you don't want to fight Cerberus on firesday. Again being who we are and the fact we already used the tag to get in we go ahead with the assault when they log back in. I don't want to go into the details (I have a lot to write about) but we wiped again and this time we were no where close to winning.
So options are to wait until the next game day or try a different T10. We chose the latter. We made Hydra our bitch. It was awesome. Not a single hitch. Well not really they d/c'd again but Hydra had very little HP left so I barrage > sidewinder > Eagle Eye Shot and a bit after he was down for the count. We had almost 10 minutes left to spare. Waited for them to log back on and opened the chest lotted and got the hell out.
After that I went to the past and either start or finish a quest in Sandy not really sure. Then it was time for Salvage. It was fun no drops besides the 100% ones. We got a card that we needed though and Mephisto joined us for his first salvage which was cool. He also got one of the 100% drops. He was wowed by the experience which really brought me back to my first Salvage. Also got a lot of Alexandrite. Overall no pieces we were hoping for but still fun.
Then the Voyager Sallet run. This was the most fun I've had in a complete alliance wipe (alliance wasn't full). For not really knowing what was expected I think we did well. Unfortunately we had no one that could raise so everyone except Yevna had to HP. Oh well I think next time we try the outcome will be a lot better. I also talked to my friend Tybodn afterward, he said if he was on next time he went he would tag along. He would make 3 Summoner's which would have equaled the win. I think we learned from our mistakes though and would be able to do it with the same set up next time but still having an extra SMN wouldn't hurt.
I also probably could have saved the run if I would have timed my sleepga's better that or just cast my highest tiered aga spell.
After that I was bored and everyone was logging out. I hit up Tybo and decided to see what was up. He and another friend of ours Stanley were heading to Quicksand Caves to kill the Shaman's Cloak NM. They were killing it for a certain spell though and both already had the Shaman's Cloak. We camped him for about 2 hours. During that time I pulled out my NPC and she leveled to 49. Also Tybo opened a couple of coffers which netted us about 11k each. Also killed a cactuar NM he aggro'd finding the coffers. He got us some gil as well. Then the NM popped we killed it and it dropped mad loot including a Shaman's Cloak for yours truly. By then Stan's wife Sabru had shown up and she wanted to check if another antican NM had popped (the loxley bow NM). It had so we killed it as well. No drop except some ores. We then decided to use those ores to pop the morion worm since we were already in the neighborhood. Did that no drop.
After that we went to the past and they helped me with my next Sandy storyline quest. We had to fight some gnoles to clear a fight area and luckily got a gnole claw which is used for the past bastok quests. Apparently it's a very rare drop. They were kind enough to let me have the claw so I could start the bastok quests. After we killed the NM for my quest (It was in Jugner Forest [S]) we did a campaign battle. I was partially afk most of the battle so only got ~400 exp. Then Sabru, Stanley, and Tybodn had to sleep.
I continued on doing Sandy and Bastok quests for a while until I was tired of running around in the past. So then I ran around in the present to finish up the cs portion of windy 9-2. After that I increased my gobbie bag from 60 to 70 and logged out to write this over due blog entry.
Overall it was a crazy fun filled adventure. Hope I have more days like this.
